I'd like you all to meet Maude, The Mini She's a 1976 Austin-Morris Mini Clubman (Automatic) all the way from hertfordshire, she jumped the pond back in 2005 to California, though she wasn't able to register, and eventually wound up in the great white north. I've always had an interest in the odd, and these machines struck my fancy, though Mr. Beans Mini also helped in my desire for one :110: Though a few weeks ago, i was fortunate enough to find a semi-local dealer who had Maude (records show that she was given the name of "Maude") It's a damm amazing machine, and condition given its age, though if it lacks anything (and trust me, these babies don't have luxuries!), it would be its measly 39hp engine 0_o .....all one needs now is a replica teddy in the passenger seat Ryan
Bah the clubman's are ugly. And automatics are for wimps. Otherwise, nice find! I'm guessing its your 1st car? Isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side for you?
considering i walked 7 miles this morning to get a damm bolt for the thing (why couldn't they have used standard size bolts), then i guess I'm pretty passionate about this old beaut!
Are UGLY?!....how dare you say such things, though considering that they were never manufactured for Canada, there more obscure than a normal mini. Yes, my first car, though i would have gone for a four speed if i had confidence in my manual trans skills! Though it's a clubman, its easy to interchange parts between almost any mini, also, the larger front end means less hassle to service the engine...
Don't get hit by anything or it'll be Ryan Gamer Gone Splat in that car You never answered me, is it being RHD a problem or is canada one of those lovely countries where they drive on the left?
whoops, i missed that, my apologies. Yea Canada is all Left-hand driven/built cars, though it's still legal to import/own a right-hand drive car. Surprisingly, the car is pretty spacious on the inside, though at least its not as small as a SMART car. Ryan
