It's pretty tricky to change the region of a sega-cd. Eva's method is probably easiesyt (theres no copy protection on Sega-Cd's) But failing that I'd try to get hold of a JP mega CD

If you get a J MCD, you'll still need a Japanese region MD to use with it unless you modify your console.

i heard d-lite did that mod and his opinion is it wasn't something anyone can attempt and he does all sorts of mod for living - or sort...

I'd get one pre-mod or just stick with JP MD/MCD...
    but that's just me :p

If you can't get one from Arakon, I could "crack" the BIOS for you and write them to chip. I can't supply the 27c2048 or 4096 though nor can I offer support.

A BIOS mod doesn't sound like fun.

Making a copy of the CD and changing the region like Evangelion-01 said sounds easy enough, but I dunno what sort of damage CD-Rs would do to the system - they tend to kill some consoles.

If you can afford a JPN Mega CD, it's probably the easiest way to go. Country modding an MD/Genesis is piss easy - you can do it with a pliers, a couple of wires and some tape if you're really lazy (like me)!

True, even with good cdrom burner, some cdr brand don't work on megacd (even very cool brands like TDK)... So I assume that, even with 2X burning on great quality medium, the read operation is nearly limit on segacd side... Not good for the lens (the focus system)!

True - any optical disc reader - be it CD or DVD or whatever - is going to find burnt media harder to read than factory pre-recorded media. Even if it's made by Taiyo Yuden with 24 carat gold!

the convesion method does nto work 100% and that is why a multbios is the only other soloution, alot of games dont work for conversion due to the fact that sega cds region is done by boot code lenghts thus causes most games not to work due to the fact that the code is moved.

There are also expensive and pretty rare Datel cartridges which work with particular games. The best solution is to preform a switching BIOS mod but of course it is difficult and experience is required.
