Well I've finally managed to get a Mega CD with a MultiBIOS sorted. Excellent.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there are any problems using, say, a Sega CD RAM cart for Jpn/US and UK saves, as I know you cant have Jpn/US GC saves on the same Memcard. The RAM cart isn't chiplocked to a certain region either it is? And do I even need one? How much can you save on the M-CD's internal memory? The only games I assume that will need large saves will be the Lunars.

    Thanks very much

Awesome! I have always wanted a MultiBIOS MegaCD. Did you mod it yourself?

The SegaCD / MegaCD have 8kbyte (64kbit) of backup ram. I have read the external backup carts have 8kbyte-64kbyte.

I only have a US Sega CD, so I have little experience with CDs from different regions. My guess is that it is not a problem, and that any checks would be implemented by the game programmers rather than the SegaCD/MegaCD BIOS rutines. Now that you have a MultiBIOS MegaCD, maybe you could check it out... :) Would be interesting to know :)

    Cheers!

What page didi you follow the instructions off of? I never tried it as the info seemed a bit.. moldy and old.

I think Shining Force CD needs the RAM cart if you want to play some bonus content (dont ask me what, that's what I vaguely remember from a "why do you need a ram cart" discussion)

No, I'm not doing the mod myself. I was getting rather pissed off trying to get in contact with either Arakon or D-Lite with no success, but I've found a very nice chap here in the UK who's doing it for me at a very reasonable price. Although if he hadn't come along I'd have got the kit together and had a go myself anyways :)

It should be here within the next week or so, and if he's ok with it, I'll post his contact info.
