Really!? - Well, it's very possible that the soldering isn't perfect since these obviously are handmade, but it's the single only RGB SCART cable that does not output additional composite video and thus it does work on all TVs I tested it, unlike the gazillion or so of other SCART cables I have lying around here. I bought my cable almost two years ago, maybe they've changed it since ?
Wow, 2 years ago? That's a while, maybe yours is indeed a little different. Or at least from a quallity standpoint. It was the only one I could find as well and had big hopes for it, especially since there where no negatives about it in her account. On the other hand, how many of the german people who buy that cable, actually make use of 60hz? If they dont, then sure the picture's gonna be alright. Very interesting, glad that yours isnt giving you any problems. Talking about them being handmade, do you by any chance know if they make it themselves? If they do make them since 2006, you'd expect them having it figured it out by now. (The whole soldering, cutting wires, tinning wires and contacts, a few wires where not even properly tinned at all.) I dont want to flame them down, but for that price you would expect it at least being properly made and not having wires like freaking Ground comming compeltly loose because it had such a bad contact, that not even the worst newbie at soldering would be happy with it. I have the feeling the cable was made from cheap labour in some third world country  A pity that I made my rating before I had it opened up, at least the shipping was crazy fast, lol.
No I think it's either made by herself or one of her family members. - These are made in China, but they're damn good work: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=mega+drive+rgb+scart [Most of] these feature brightness contraints and practically all output additional composite video. These are all things that the ones from pittys_de do not feature, so it might be worth trying them out. From my personal experience, these do not work properly with many TVs [but work perfectly with about 75% of the TVs I tested them with], and will give you only a composite picture due to the TV not switching in RGB mode, or give you a mix of composite + RGB.
May be you need a crystal unit/oscillator. The PAL MD2 has one with 53.203MHz NTSC-J MD2 has one with 53.6931MHz Get one from an NTSC-J/NTSC-U MD2 or buy one. Maybe this one:SG531PTRS(53.6931MHz)
