I wanted to focus purely on one Sega system. I've already had a complete PAL DC collection and I don't get on well with the Master System. So it came down to the Saturn and the Mega Drive. I grew up with the MD and I get a kick out of the boxes and artwork so it came out the winner. Anyway I started by buying a MD1 (can't stand the shape of the MD2) and I modified it adding the 50/60HZ and Region selector switches as well as a blue LED; not original I know but looks very cool. Here is the collection as of the 5th of May.
That's a nice little start mate. If I pick up any super cheap bundles with SMD stuff in I will give you a shout and you can have them for postage cost. Nice to see a new collection take shape!
The only system I really buy games for now and only decent ones at that. Using the same mega drive we had since I was a kid (And it was my brothers at that). I can still sit down and play through the streets of rage series on complete Sonic 3 and Knuckles just like it was the first time I was playing them and still having just as much fun. Good luck with the collection and excited to see what games you pick up.
I went back to Sonic Spinball the other day to see if my memory of it was perhaps a little harsh. ...nope. Still shite to my eyes.
I absolutely love Sonic Spinball, I got it free with my Sonic 2 MD pack when I was 10/11 and I think I'm still addicted to it 15 years on.
Man! The FIFA MegaDrive games! Those were amazing, I'd take them any day over modern football games. They weren't complex at all, but they were really fun to play.
Spent about two hours on Fifa 97 yesterday. Quite a deep and skilful game considering there are only 3 buttons.
Got more stuff today courtesy of Masterturk. Started doing video blogs of arrivals: http://www.youtube.com/user/PocketTim?feature=mhum
great start Twimfy, i need to get a megadrive too and some games. Comix Zone would probably be the first one to get. the only md games i have are sonic 1,2 and toy story
Nice stash! I just got a MD last week and have Wonder Boy in Monster World on it's way. Micro Machines is next on the hitlist.
Micromachines is proof of me getting worse at games the older I get. Find it so hard. Anyway vid link of this weeks pick ups: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150150120256444
That game was always nails though. I can just about cope with the first game, I can complete it if I've got the time and can be bothered slogging it out on the last sports cars level, but I never got anywhere in the later games. They were one step too far in frustration for me.
