I ended up buying a third party psu, because I couldn't find a fitting plug for the other psu I have.

    But there's this new thing.
My retrobit composit cable only works when the left/white audio cable is unplugged.
When it's plugged in it muffles and distorts the sound.
Weird. Is it the cable or the console?
I should mention that I've been using this cable on a clone that only outputs mono and it does so through the right/red audio plug.

Cable, those retrobit cables are cheap, the composite line is shorting with the audio ground probably and really shorts out when you plug it into the TV. they just use such cheap rubber/plastic on those cables.

I hope you're right. I had the impression that they were the premium third party brand..

not at all, they FINALLY made a semi decent Megadrive controller, but the retrobit cable for my saturn is splittling at the ends because of the cheap grade or rubber insulation they use. a lot of their stuff is janky at best.

I see. Good to know, I'll probably buy generic chinese accessories next time and try my luck with them. The PSU I mentioned above is a quality product, as is most of the stuff I've bought on aliexpress.

Turns out it was the tv. I've tested it with another tv set and I got stereo on it.
