Hey guys So, I have a Model 2 VA1 PAL Mega Drive, and I've installed a mega amp to fix the awful sound prevalent in Model 2 machines. One thing I have noticed, however, is that there seems to be some sort of audio interference dependent on what is being displayed on screen. For example, in the everdrive menu, it makes very faint squeaks when scrolling through menu items, and certain games cause audible buzzing on certain screens. It's quite faint and not normally noticeable, I just wondered if this was a) normal behaviour, and b) if there is any way to fix it. Thanks!
I have a md1 with good sound quality and I get the buzzing on the mega-ed menu , haven't noticed that in game though... I think buzzing in menu is something common, I remember reading it in other places as well
Fair enough, thanks for your response. If I switch the low-pass filter on on the mega amp, it does deaden the background noise a little, but I'm not a fan of the filtered sound as to me it sounds like when you used to have Dolby noise reduction on cassette tapes and just muffles the entire sound. Tell you what, boot up Sonic 2 on your ED, on the Sega logo screen, turn the volume up, I bet you'll hear buzzing then.
