Hi everybody! As the title says, I've got me a Mega Everdrive that I just can't get to work for the life of me. Bought it at StoneAgeGamer.com Deluxe Edition # 074 purchased at the end of June for my birthday for anyone who cares. It worked great and I loved it over the summer then school started and I didn't touch it at all. Took it home with me over Xmas break and it refused to work. Since then I've tried it in 3 different consoles and I haven't gotten more than a blue/green/red screen when trying to play it. I've reformatted the SD card, loaded a new OS, and tried other cards to no avail. The SD card works in my camera and my camera's SD card doesn't work in the everdrive so I'm out of ideas. Is there something else I should be trying to make this thing work? Any help is appreciated.
Usually problems like this are either with the SD card being incompatible or formatted wrong. Is it formatted as FAT32? It needs to be. Also the max size SD you can run is SD HC which top out at 32GB. Anything bigger won't work because they are SD XC and the Everdrive lines only support SD and SD HC cards.
Both cards were formatted FAT 32. The one I bought from SAG worked for a while, but then just kinda stopped. Don't know the brand, (just says 8GB Class 10 on their website) but I'd hope they wouldn't sell cards that were incompatible 2nd card is Verbatim 4GB SDHC Class 4 which seems to fit the guidelines as well?
Guess I'll try that. Just for giggles I tried the ED64 card as well. Confirmed my ED64 was working, removed the SD card, loaded the MegaOS.bin file onto that one (in F:\MEGA folder), REconfirmed it was working on the n64, then tried it in the Mega ED with no luck
I've never had compatibility issues on my Everdrive MD. I use a cheap Chinese rip off 2GB class 10 micro SD with adapter. I think it is supposed to be a Sandisk model. Never had any issues with it. I do get a "OS not present" message from time to time but re-seating the SD fixes that for me. Dirty slot methinks since we have a lot of dust in the air where I live.
Actually may just be easier to send to us for possible board replacement. You can e-mail us at returns{at}stoneagegamer{dot}com.
That does sound easier. I'll let you guys work out the international shipping if you need to. Thanks for the help!
