Hi folks! I was searching the way to play import cartridges on my Genesis CDX, but due to the modding difficulty I've decided to buy one of these Mega Key units:

I've tested it with different games from the different regions, and also with my other console (which is Sega Mega Drive 2, model MK-1631-11, a clone probably), but unfortunately it doesn't work at all—CDX shows black screen and MD2 shows gray/blue.

I gave the contacts nice clean, disassembled the cartridge and checked continuity with the multimeter. Everything seems to be OK and should work fine, but the strange thing is that it doesn't work even as a pass-through, with cartridge of the same region and the dip switches off. Half an hour of shuffling the switches and trying different games gave no results (only one time CDX with US cartridge flickered with the "produced by or under license" screen for a second). So I've really stuck and have no clue how to get this thing work again.

The first theory is that this Mega Key is for PAL consoles only (which is reasonable because yellow table have settings for US, JAP and Brazil). Could it be the matter of the different cartridge voltages in different regions? If so, I probably could mod the key adding/removing some resistors. Googled myself to dust but didn't find any specs.

The second theory is that one of the chips broke up, making unable to use unit even as a pass-through cartridge, so it's actually faulty and then I could only blame the ebay seller (and also broke all traces and bridge everything directly to be able to play few region-free games).

Anyway, any help on this is highly appreciate!
