HI all Glad to see the site back and running. While the site has been down I managed to lay my grubby little hands on a (PAL) Multi Mega/CDX. Now I love this little unit. In fact I got ride of my mega drive 2 and mega cd 2 and a wii and Ann only playstation 1, (but I may regret getting ride of the MD2/MCD2 in the long run) But I was wondering if anyone did the whole region free BIOS for it like they do with the MCD and MCD2 and a number of the other consoles. And also can the 50/60 conversion be done (without butchering the case) My soldering days are over as I have started to loose my sight so I hope there is someone UK based who can do this for me...
Yes, but there's no direct replacement. You need to solder a bunch of wires. However, I did the layout for an adapter pcb quite a while ago to get a road this. But no multimega to test it fits/works.
If you've got a Mega Everdrive, you can actually launch any CD bios from it you want. I use it to load a bios to play japanese region games.
As Krikzz once mentioned that EverDrive won't load BIOS on MultiMega/CDX(https://assemblergames.com/threads/region-patch-doesnt-always-work.28127/#post-435196). I'd like to know if anyone tested that the compatibility of the newest EverDrive X7? As it's 7yrs passed since krikzz mentioned that as known issue.
