I was browsing overclock.net which i post there sometimes and i noticed a thread from the main page about someones PC in a megadrive case idea/project and thought this would be good to share with people here as i thinks it quite cool. It acutally a mini media centre/server which has been fully put into the megadrive 2 case. I'm not sure if its fully finished but he has a PC in a megadrive and is looking to create a working dvd drive by connecting the megadrive to a mega CD and somehow modding the megacd to be a standard pc dvd drive. http://www.overclock.net/case-mod-work-logs/382757-project-pc-sega-megadrive-2-a.html
As long as he's using Dead or PAL systems that's fine. Just better not waste any perfectly good systems, specifically any NTSC systems. Then he will have to have rotten vegetables lobbed at him. That is a pretty neat idea though. But I think it'd be more appealing if the original controllers could be used as USB gamepads and if the Sega CD 2 really gets a DVD burner in it that would be sweet.
was thinking the same kinda thing, shame to waste a good Megadrive but looks a cool project and if he does figure out a way to make the sega cd into a fully functioning DVD burner then it will be even better.
