Simple question, are those 3 in 1 PSUs worth it? Having all three plugged in at once is annoying This is what im talking about Or the brick version, Any good sites in the UK where I can get one? Also ALL MY HATE!!
As long as the voltage is around 9V and the rated amperage is >3A then it should do fine. I have had cheap switch mode power supplies struggle with the Mega CD starting to spin and move the laser head and you can see the LEDs dim.
I have the Sega Trio and it works amazingly. Rarely have the 32X hooked up and just put a piece of electrical tape over the 3'rd connector. It comes in various flavors though so you can just one for the Genesis/SCD instead of Genesus/SCD/32X. http://retrogamecave.weebly.com/sega-trio.html
You need the original Sega power strip. Other power strips may not have sufficient blast processing capability and your Genesis games will end up looking like SNES games.
I use what looks like the power supply in your pic, it works flawlessly. This is where I bought mine from http://en.retrogamesupply.com/colle...in-one-for-sega-megadrive-genesis-mega-cd-32x
I use mine all the time without the 32x attached and just Sega cd and Genesis. I've never had any problems, but you can ask the manufacturer to be certain.
I have one, it's good, nice and reliable and tidy. Although I'm now insanely jealous of Nick's power strip.
I also own the Retrogamesupply's 3-1 PSU and I can vouch for its quality and specs. It is really well made and have zero percent issues. I also wish I bought it earlier. Also, I do know several other people who own all of other retrogamesupply products and are also completely satisfied with them.
