Hello, I have quite a setup with multiple console hooked to a Sony PVM 20L4 throug a BNC>Scart breakout cable with Sync cleaning circuit. But I get a strange problem with all the Megadrives I have tested. The screen is dark and washed out. I tried many RGB cables from Retrogamingcables.co.uk, original French RGB cable from Sega, and another Japanese cable. The main Megadrive I'm using is Asian Megadrive model 1. I also tried with 32x, still same results. The setup works with ordinary CRT but not this one. Same problem occurs with some resolutions with my Arcadevga 5000 with different cables (640x480 and 800x600). I think something is wrong with the signal but I don't figure out what.... If someone can help it would be really nice. Best regards
Sounds like the PVM isn't liking the sync signal. Megadrives are known to be finicky with this. I have a cable from retro_console_accessories that has some active circuit (sync stripper? sync booster? Never really looked into it because it just worked). Running it through an Extron RXI might help.
I think it's this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-seller-G...414919?hash=item2edef9e607:g:aWAAAOxydgZTKJLC No guarantee that fixes your problem though...
