After purchasing the Megaman 9 presskit off Capcom's Site I just checked Ebay and Noticed they were going for around 200 plus.

My question to you all is in your personal opinion Should I Keep it for awhile THEN sell make more money in the long run or should I put it on on ebay and make a fast profit?

Ive never owned something like this before so Really I dont wanna do something stupid, Just dont wanna be the guy 10 years from now looking at ebay and seeing one of these goes for 10K XD.

    Thanks alot.

You should keep it and not fucking speculate with the market.

Keep. Although making a quick buck now seems sweet, I am sure they will go for much more later on. And either way, its a sexy Kit to have! ;-)

This item just became a lot more common than it was several months ago. The latest info I have is that Capcom did another 500 or so to fill all the back orders that slipped in when they had the webstore glitch. Along with the 700 or so they sent out to the press, distributed to internal partners and sold in the first batch, I doubt many of these will sell for the hundreds of dollars they were getting when they were actually rare.

Actually, it is. Spend a little time on Capcom-Unity which is Capcom's official fan forum and you can get all the details. Weren't you at all suspicious when your copy turned up all of a sudden some three months after the order was placed and after most of us had already received ours? The prices on Ebay have started to steadily decline in line with this increase in supply. The one that ended yesterday went for $175 with shipping and the last two before that went for $160 and $170. Still good prices on an item that sold for around $50 or so, but not exactly crazy profit.

Where are you getting your numbers? I'm on Capcom Unity and I have never heard such numbers.

if the info Bojay is giving out is true, sell it quick. it sounds like you're going to sell it eventually anyways.

I would put it on ebay for a really high price. Say 399$, maybe you are lucky and it sells. Then you're good to go and can put it on the bank for the next ten years earning interest.

Else keep it, I think these things increase in value over time. It is not that there millions of copies out there.

Im not a big time collector so something like this is just a Item thatll probably collect dust, I dont even like Megaman. I just thought it was cool to own something like this that were only in limited supply and I had the chance so I took it.

Im reading now that They had alot of backorders that they eventually all made but still lets say they made 2000 of them. Thats still quite a small number compared to all the gamers as a whole that want one.

    hopefully My math is correct.

Sure, but there are lots and lots of rare items that only exist in quantities of a few dozen or maybe a few hundred and this isn't even a playable game. Most of the collectors who wanted one got one and those that didn't probably aren't going to pay multiple times MSRP to get one. It's just a neat little box with an empty NES cart shell and a press disc with a few pieces of clip art on it. It's a fun item to own, but if you're planning on selling it for much more than 2-3 times what you paid, you are going to be pretty disappointed.

Phone conversation with a Capcom employee in San Mateo who was helping me when the first copy they sent me was damaged in transit.
