How about buying a regular PS1 or a controller adapter and using one of these?

I think the best option is the Power Glove: I have one, I think it is quite rare but it is the best option! You can move your pulse and it will act as analog The_Playstation_Power_Glove_by_Sega32x.jpg

Oh man, strokes are terrible things to go through, my grandfather has had two of them but has been lucky enough to escape reasonably unharmed. Sorry to hear how severe yours was, you sound like you're young as well! :(

There are various arcade emulators you can use, MAME, Kawaks and Final Burn Alpha are probably the most popular. Personally I prefer Kawaks as it's simple to use and has decent graphics filters, although it is only limited to CPS1, CPS2 and Neo Geo emulation as well as a few others. For a larger selection of compatibility you might want to try the other alternatives.

What he means is a PS1 controller to USB adapter. it allows you to plugin regular PS1/PS2 controllers and use them on the PC for emulators and such. I got one around 7 years ago and it works great.

Though i perfer the actual hardware but when i use PS1 emulators, i use ePSXe 1.8.0. It maybe a bit difficult to setup but its the best one out there. i can help you set one up if you want, just let me know.
