I would like to ask you to give me a personal opinion of the site, as well as what you'd like to see in the future.

For one thing there's a glitch that could be fixed. When adding a picture into a post and you click on "from URL" it will send you back to "from computer" as soon as a URL is added or you deselect the retrieve remote files option.

That is all. I may edit this later if I think of something else.

    That's something I can't fix.

There was a zero day exploit in the yahoo yui, so they did not release a fix at all. They told us all (vbb owners) to
delete the yui file and make a dummy file. There is NO FIX I am aware of :-(

I always tik on the useless ":" over each "J" of "Join Date"". And I think the signature could go up into the post frame as to not extend short post for no reason. Idk if you can change that though.
I also don't like the cartoons telling me to register when browsing unregistered (school), but hey, it's not that bad!
Liked the dark red theme better, was more serious-looking (school/work).

In the end this place is awesome, with lots of active members with real knowledge that's hard to find elsewhere. That can be but amplified with the implementation of a wiki. It may be a good idea to implement a way to archive the website (for other than you) with anonymized data, just so people can back it up regularly in case of issues. I know I'm real sad of not having a backup of Segakatana.com, and now as far as I know it's lost.

    Cheers!

The only complaint that I have right now is the new people coming in, bumping ridiculously old threads and posting inane topics just to get to the minimum post count to get into the marketplace. Not sure how to combat that other than making the marketplace moderator-approved only.

I could close all topics over a year old.

I mentioned this, and everyone voted against it :/ Anyway, new members should not be allowed to post in old threads or they get reviewed like FG said.

I'm fairly happy with the site is, if you ever want to revamp the post count images or staff banners I can help. I was going to ask if the XBOX moderator banner could be added to Pikkon as well... Or considered as staff. XBOX banner would be better since I get PMs requesting moderation elsewhere.

I'm not a massive fan of locking the old threads, it is a bit of a piss take when joe123 bumps and adds "KOOL" so he can get 50 posts, but even recently there has been cases of people finding threads though google search results and having a lot to offer to the conversation that possibly stagnated due to a lack of information!

How about this. Since any necrobump that offers useful info will be longer than 4 words let that go. Any necrobump under 4 words is almost always guaranteed to be spammy. Weed those out with an auto script or something and lock the thread to be safe. Give the option to unlock it to the OP should anything new come up.

    Uhh... bring back the smilies!

It's good to see the wiki back up. I don't know that there's a whole lot more that can be added, really. Some things could do with sprucing up, particularly the rules. I think I've mentioned that in the feedback section, though. There were some other good suggestions over there in the past, too.

The new picture at the top of the page is a bit jagged. Use the straight line lasso tool in Photoshop on a decent resolution image to get that sorted. :)

I think some type of assembler store with shirts and other things would be nice to generate so income to make the site better, i don't know about anyone else but i would rock an assembler shirt. Perhaps a vBulletin 5 upgrade would make things look and function a lot better. It would quite a bit easier with some of the site modification tools included in vBulletin 5. Or maybe we need some type of technical admin who can make changes to site functionality when problems arise. I also really liked the idea of a file server.

It just seems like technical issues arise and Kevin is too busy to address all of them, managing a site like this is a lot of work. Trust is big thing here though, and i can't think of a really good way to assign that kind of position.

I wouldn't change a thing, as they say; If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I agree that closing year old threads isn't a good idea, sometimes old threads get bumped with good reason...

100% agree with everything FamilyGuy said.

And I know you're all sick of it, but: Tapatalk.
As mentioned somewhere before, it's now free for users and also for forum owners.
The installation should not take longer than 10 minutes and it's really convenient to get PMs and subscribed forum updates pushed to your mobile phone.
