Having watched the Playstation announcement and seeing this a few times, I have to ask... What's the deal with guys wearing suit jackets and jeans?? I know it's nothing new and I've seen it before but still, is it only me who thinks they look like douchebags? It's neither here nor there. If you're gonna wear jeans then just dress casual. If you're gonna wear a suit jacket/blazer, put some fucking trousers on! There was a guy who even had a shirt and tie on with his jacket and still opted to put jeans on!! When those guys from Bungie all came on - 4 of them - wearing the exact same thing... they just looked retarded.
It's this trend called "smart casual" you combo it at semi formal interviews to ensure you stay relaxed while still looking professional.
Haha, I also thought those guys from Bungie looked like tools. I thought to myself, "Well, this suddenly got awkward and I'm not sure why..." Now I know.
Yes, the Bungie guys were odd. They just stood there in background looking nervous and staring out into the audience. Their poses looked as if they were to exude strength and authority but came off disjointed and uncomfortable. They were stiff and statuesque with wooden expressions. As human specimens, they weren't of the "easy on the eyes variety", but looked like extras from an old Doctor Who special if the plot revolved around men disfigured due to a radioactive lake teeming with poison gas bubbles. It was clearly, Sony showing off Bungie as a trophy. Look microsoft, we have captured your soldiers.
Just kind of pulled that today. I recently picked up a jacket that's technically a raincoat, but it looks like a suit jacket. Tossed on a pair of black jeans and wore a hoodie underneath the jacket. I liked the outfit. I suppose it's just a common casual thing to wear for some people, but I think 4 people all wearing it isn't OK.
If it's good enough for the Doctor it's good enough for anyone. Although I wouldn't recommend wearing clown-colored coats or question mark shirts.
I used to wear all black when I was young, and a full suit+shirt+tie setup when I started teaching. But I do something similar to this now. I fucking HATE jeans, but I wear good trousers and a suit jacket, with a smart T-shirt or a casual shirt. It's sort of like the Jeans + Suit Jacket. It's a "teacher" thing. One definitely looks like a laid back professor kind of character.
While I agree it is a tad douchey it is infinitely more tolerable to me than jeans + sandals/flipflops.
