Lately I've been messing around with pixels. This is my first time at it. Just did a few test characters. I'll have to try some more in the future. piq_157803_400x400 by Y=MX+B, on Flickr piggypixelmilly by Y=MX+B, on Flickr Untitled by Y=MX+B, on Flickr
These are really nicely done, especially considering these are your first! The first two (dog and top-hat pig) just reek of personality, making them all the better. Keep at it, mang.
Is the black-and-white cartoon vibe what you were going for? Because that's what they're giving me - probably because of the huge googly eyes. I like 'em.
yeah that first one is a character i doodle all of the time. I'll be messing around making more characters in the future. It's new to me but pretty damn fun. Thanks for the kind words
Those are pretty cool! I especially like the GB. I used to make little pixelated animations using this cursor animation program - it basically let you make animated mouse cursors for Windows. I also used to make art with MS Paint quite a bit. You can do a lot with limited tools if you know what you're doing.
I really love the Gameboy and the pig with the top hat! Very impressive for a first try at pixel artistry. All I've ever managed to do are half-assed edits and palette swaps.
Thanks guys. I have been thinking about making some random weapons/shields for a pretend game in my head. Thought it'd be fun trying something different. I'll be working on those
Great work, I take it as an inspiration. I'm making a go at some pixel art sometime soon, so I'm glad to see some quality work from someone here!
Very cool stuff indeed! It's getting harder and harder now to find computer artists who can work within the confines of limited resolution displays, as I found out when tried to find someone to do Dot Matrix animations for the pinball software I was working on.
Yeah I just started trying this stuff. Always have been interested in it for sure. That's awesome I'm a huge pinball fan myself! Go to pinball contest when ever I can for fun
