Metal Gear Rising ... Promo?

So I had this in my collection for awhile. I actually got it with the original sealed game with the limited cover that I bought off of a Japanese auction. I never thought much of it, i assumed it was a promo disc before the game came out but to this day I have never seen it again anywhere for sale nor can I find any info on it online. If anyone knows more about it, let me know. Even on the wiki theres nothing about this disc.

Yea I figured it could be a demo. But there is literally no info at all on a physical release. In google images it doesnt show up, eBay nobody has it, any info website, they all talk about the PSN demo, the only website ever mentioning a physical was Destructoid but it was more of a question of will there be a demo for the game.

Theres no place discussing this release at all,only the PSN demo. Not saying this is the rarest thing on earth lol but when you cant even find basic info on it, something tells me it's not common at all.

"I think this isn’t the commercial demo. In Japan, there used to be another demo in select stores, where you had to defeat the RAY in Abkhazia. If you did well and your time and rank were exceptional, you got a present like a poster.

If I remember correctly, this contains that demo. It was a promo item for purchases at certain stores and also very limited."

Things with the X at the end usually are found on special stuff.
If you want, there are people that can dump the disc for any special content (me being one of them, or others) if you are unable to.

No one is saying this demo is special . Its just a regular demo same as the PSN one. The fact that you have a physical demo of this is special. I collect MGS stuff, I have not seen this come up in over 3 years on any auction site since I got mine. And it was confirmed it was only given out in Bic Camera and Yodobashi Camera in limited amounts to those who pre ordered. It is known it was very limited quantity considering it almost never shows up online just like the Gran Turismo 2000 disc. Im just curious how many of these were given out.

I see you mentioning "it's the same demo on PSN", but just how close is it to the PSN version? You need to consider that it's possible that they're slightly different, and a small hash check would be enough to tell.

 

I sent an email to http://www.metalgearinformer.com . They are pretty much an ongoing blog site on everything MGS. They did reviews on all the MGS special edition and premium packages from Japan. I sent them my photos and this is what the guy replied:

"To be honest I think this is the first time I've seen this item. So you
know more about it than I do... that's a pretty cool collector's item to
have though."

Im not really sure what your posts in this topic are trying to convey. The whole time you are downplaying the existance of this disc. I came here to find from fellow collectors if anyone has any more info because as proven, literally almost nobody knows of its existence. So I thought it would be an interesting topic and maybe other people that have this too, to keep it in their collection and not pawn it off.

Then your sentence "but seems like nobody wants it" which is a salty tone for only reason you know. Guess what, I have seven (7) Gran Turismo 2000 discs out of which 5 I bought on this exact Yahoo auction for ¥500 each. Even if its more than 50 copies available, its a rare and interesting thing to have. Just because it doesnt cost $5000 doesnt mean its not rare nor interesting to collect for. Also what you linked is for bidding, its a starting price. Ive seen items go from ¥100 to ¥10.000 in 3 minutes.

Is there any info on this except some tweet from 7 years ago and a reddit post? No. Is GT2000 considered rare and collectable? Yes. So how come i have seven copies and keep seeing it pop up at least once in 3 months on that same Yahoo auction or Rakuten? So maybe nobody wants that either .

You obviously have no interest in MGS lore or collectables so I dont know what you keep coming back for, you sound like some salty bitch for no reason like someone took candy out of your mouth.

If you were smart enough to go and read the original post you would know I came here to ask for information about the disc since it cant be found anywhere. And still, breadcrumbs of info. I never said this is worth thousands, but i did post of my findings. Nobody here said its SUPER rare, just that its obviously rare otherwise we would know more about it. GT2000 is rare and obscure but it can still be found. GT HD is rare and sought after but its still able to be found. What is your point exactly? Would you like some pepper with that salt you got going there

 

point is internet presence or absence is hardly proof of anything,
like every poster, promo keychain, demo or nifty item needed to have 50 google photos results
also, have you thought that maybe gt2000 was printed in more quantities than what some people say? and maybe all those who wanted it have bought it and moved on, so thats why you can keep buying it for 5$ ? one thing is sure, keep buying all of them, and it will become super rare
everything's so rare and obscure, especially when you like it, i know how it feels bud, i have boxfuls of rare and obscure stuff nobody gives a yawn about

OP needs to chill and consider everyones advice, not just the ones telling him what he wants to hear.

Tyree was pointing out that yes, this exists and in its country of origin it's considered nothing crazy rare or sought after. That's good info that pertains to what you supposedly are looking for. But no, you accuse him of pissing in your Cheerios. If it's just people stroking your e peen over your demo you're looking for, let us know before hand. Otherwise, you might get helpful info you don't want to hear.

for game data , it same PSN demo , just NPDRM different.
