Just read on a Brazilian Game Site: " Two guys, 19-20 years old stolen a playable demo disc from one of the exhibition ps2's on the Konami/Sony booth. According to witnesses, they "forced" one of the PS2 that was playing the game till it opened the cd drive. Then they run like crazy to escape convention center. L.A.P.D. was called, and is investigating the case, but nothing is know yet." Opinion of the website: " It's very possible that this demo will show up on the internet soon." Damn! I though they had tons of security guards on E3. How can 2 guys do this!? :smt011
Im not entirely surprised. Thing is, this event is supposed to be full of professionals (and Sony *joke*). They wouldnt *normally* expect a journalist to rip open a PS2. You will probably find next year it is going to be a LOT harder for student types to get in.
Give it a week, it will be on ebay. But at least it was only a demo. I think it looks crap myself, yeah the graphics look awesome, but the level design is going to be pretty linear.
Wonderful. So if I AM somehow able to afford to get in, it's going to be a lot harder thanks to a pair of twats who obviously weren't there to just participate in the event. I'm debating whether or not to report the first source I see that will be hosting the file, because this really pisses me off. And Banchan, I'm not sure what the source is Johnny found the article from, but here's one: http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=30262&subsectionid=1585
http://outerspace.terra.com.br/news/2004/maio/14a.asp In portuguese. Greatsaintlouis: I'm pretty pissed of myself. I would love to get the GT4 E3 demo that is running on those PS2, but since they are not being given away, i can wait till the release on november. It's just stupid. You get the chance to visit one of the biggest gaming events ever, and instead of enjoy taking pics, get free stuff and play lots of games, but these assholes went to steal something... The world is really fucked up.
Here's an update I found somewhere online. Apparently after the youths were spotted running from the convention, E3 attendees noticed strange, rather tense sounding music being played through the loudspeakers. A member of the security staff, when asked to comment, only responded with " ! " before continuing his search. A number of conventiongoers noticed that there were a number of rather suspicious cardboard boxes located around the Konami exhibit, all addressed to various companies just inside the Mexican border. I'll keep you informed of any new goings-on as I hear them.
FOR SALE METAL GEAR 3 WILL TRADE FOR GENTLY USED METAL GEAR LESS THAN 30,000KM USE OR PIXXS OF MERYL.
*sigh* they'll just make things harder then and that going to exlude more of the general public (tho obviously the public can't go since its supposed to be for journalists only, its common knowledge they often do get in )
