Konami confirmed that a new metal gear was on his way for the next generation of consoles. Kojima wil still be involved (yay!) but will pass his productor title to someone else (his name wasn't revealed), it's still fun to know mgs' dad will still be around, since he said he wouldn't make mgs3 before mgs2 was released and that he would pass to something else after the third..eh, he wasn't serious, but you can't complain. :p

the game , to date, seems to keep the ''solid'' name but Kojima also said that mgs3 would close the solid trilogy. Eh, who said only crazy people never change their minds?

more informations are waited by a a large bunch of fans from everywhere.

    and now for the weather......

Didnt see this one coming. Perhaps he is rehashing Metal gear 1 and 2(good version) for the PS2 or PS3, with updated graphics, and rewritten text to make sense with other MGS games to date.
    OR
He wants to finish the story started in 2. It sorta DID end in a cliffhanger with Ocelot/Liquid running off in the RAY...but knowing Hideo Kojima he could have fixed MGS2 as a dream of the future by Big boss (You know, Real people in his dream are based on people he knew, Raidenovich is Raiden in his futuristic dream, you know...) and thats one of the reasons he turned evil. :D :happyhap: :smt043 :smt042 :smt030 :-D :smt083 :smt033 :smt043 WHAHAHAH! Best shot at a game EVAAA!!!
Anyhoo, since you learned the history of the patriots and thier spy,
    "SPOILER in white text"
    Ocelot,
in MGS3, you might learn more about him in MGS4 and maybe kill him. I think he and the other patriots are all thats left in the "villain" side of the baddies. Plus it would be bad-ass to see the new Metal gear mech!
Im waiting for Kojima to make a similar 007 rogue agent Metal gear Solid title, where you can fight good guys and maybe even pilot a metal gear! That would kick even more ass.

    Dammit....

MGS3 didn't close up anything. We still don't know if Snake catches Ocelot, and if so, what happens, and we still don't know what goes down when Snake & Raiden go after the Patriots after MGS2.

If you're going to create a convoluted storyline like in MGS2, the least you can do is resolve it...

I genuinely liked MGS2....convoluted is not bad, you just need to tie the loose ends up.

Xenogears illustrated this beautifully, it opened a BIG can of worms, but then it saw the whole thing through, wrapped everything up, and was way more rewarding because of it.

I don't think that HK bit off more than he could chew with MGS2, he just didn't finish the job. MGS3 was cool because it explained who the Patriots were, and what was at stake, but it didn't solve the problem of the end of 2 being up in the air...

If they want to make MGS PSP games, that's all well and good, I'll buy and play every flippin' one of 'em, but the REAL conclusion to Metal Gear Solid (i.e. MGS4, conclusion of the patriots storyline) should be either a PS2 or early PS3 title (ideally at launch, THAT would sell systems).

    *MGS2 SPOILER ALERT*

the thing with mgs2 is that it seemed just unfinished. you know? you where in the big shell, you heard all the sotry of vamp, killed that damn bomb man, was pretty munch interested in fortune...and bang! everything blew away, you wake in the shadow moses base, you know who the hell was this ninja and all. suddently, you boss isn't the same, your girl friend isn't your girl friend, in fact she was here to watch over you, but she really falled in love with you, then ,no, you know your girl friend wasn't even a girl friend, it was only your imagination, the colonel gets crazy and repeat lalolilolu all day long, vamp isn't in the story anymore, snake begins to be weird just like the others, they throw you a katana, snake fight with fortune....Hey, she was mine! and bamn, you gets a billion of metal gears in front of you.

it seemed to be unfinished, they just threw the ending part brutally, but you would have loved to rest in the big shell longer, and have a more developed story before the big bang. oh well, it's maybe only me...

it's only me or this trilogy was suposed to be on sold snake but finnaly wasn't? i mean, you play with snake in the first one, right. but then you play with raiden in the second (snake is still in the story though) and you play with The real snake in the third. And they still call it the solid trilogy?
Not a ps2 title, definitivly. Why? mgs3 could have been so much better technically (and it already was!) on another, more powerfull, console. Do mgs4 on the ps2 would really be sad.
