Lit. Amazing. That is the kind of thing that gives me faith in the next gen. Everything just looks so well implemented. On top of that the graphics look damn fine even in low res vids, on top of that - virtually no slowdown. Shame that most of the comments about the game on other sites seem to boil down to "console-wars" bull. The game looks a triumph, can't wait.
All I can say is it looks amazing! The graphics, the story and the game play all look really sweet and they have differently made use of the power of the PS3 in my opinion. This will be the most realistic Metal Gear yet! Just to point out kojima productions has a better hi def version up ;P
mms://delivery11.i-revo.jp/2007E3/mgs4_playdemo_mg20th_en.wmv Direct link to the video if anyones needing it. Amazing game, I'm going to have to try and get a PS3 by the time this comes out. :icon_bigg
I must say, Kojima sure proved skeptics wrong. Not only does this game look amazing, but everything seems so smooth. Not to mention the replay value will be great (Why do I have the feeling there will be multiple endings?) I also sort of liked how they showed the very first trailer redone with the near final graphics. It looks much different, but it shows how much the game has come since then.
I wonder how it will sell. As each iteration of the MGS franchise continues to sell less of the previous one even though the review are higer.
this game seems so friggin complete in every way imaginable it doesn't make sense. I mean, you can play over the shoulder, in fps, like in mgs3:s, there's an online mode, you can friggin check individual pages of a magazine, there's two army fighting and you can choose to help one to progress and it will have repercutions later on, the combat system (which wasn't a strong point in the previous games) seems even more developed than most action tittles, the story will be epic and amazing, the graphics are amazing, ..... ..wow.
Hmm, Well, it is interesting. MGS2 was a pretty big seller, even though it wasn't as high as the first one. Sort of a system seller. Then there was MGS3, which came out during a huge holiday season (Halo 2, GTA: San Andreas), and while it sold less then MGS2, it still sold extremely well. MGS4, however, is a system seller. Even though GTA4 is coming out on the PS3, it will also be available on the 360, so no one is rushing to buy a PS3 just for that game. MGS4, however, will be a game most PS3 owners will pick up, either due to lack of other games, or being big fans of the series. Granted, it will be limited due to the PS3's high price point.
After GoW, MGS4 graphics dont look awesome like they used to, but the high level of deatil, multiple NPCs and action in the background really look stuning.
It's still in alpha. I like the look, Snake looks awsome, but the animation is rather next gen and the cock holding statue camo sequence is just wrong. WTF is going on in Konami these days?
Jasonkhowell Yeah it doesn't make any sense as the reviews scores get higher and I thought MGS3 was quite good. Maybe people wait for the Subsistance versions ? I agree though it will move hardware sales
