Anyone got any info about this? im sure it's been posted before, but saw a mention of it in a mag, and was curious.
Thanks to thesnakesoup.com for this informative article, from which the pictures are taken. It was never released, by the way.
I had a small catalog with my Game.com that listed about 10 unreleased games with screenshots and info (including some Madden game, a "virtual pet" game with some weird hardware built *into* the cartridge and Castlevania) but I sold it a long time ago :-( And if the MGS for Game.com ROM ever gets dumped, it still wouldnt have been of much use as the system isnt emulated - last time I checked, even the processor type was not known.
wow didnt know about the existince of the unreleased game, ah well maybe it was better that I didnt know.. now I need to be on the look out
Aantipasta i still have that little booklet. I've listed all games in the booklet i don't know which were unreleased but someone on this board might know: Castlevania: symphony of the night Resident Evil 2 Duke Nukem 3D NBA live '99 which is whopping big cart with built in battery backup Madden Football '99 again with the backup battery Holyfield boxing Mortal kombat trilogy Small soldiers Jurassic park: The lost world Monopoly Name that Tune Giga pets deluxe which is kinda tamagochi style with built in backup battery Lights out Henkry: match the sounds memory game And a bunch of hardware like: the compete.com link cable Game.com external 14K4 modem Game.com internet cart icluding Delphi internet service subscription
Castlevania - unreleased Resident Evil 2 - released Duke Nukem 3D - released NBA live '99 - unreleased Madden Football '99 - unreleased Holyfield Boxing - unreleased Mortal Kombat Trilogy - released Small Soldiers - unreleased The Lost World: Jurassic Park - released Monopoly - released Name That Tune - unreleased Giga Pets Deluxe - unreleased (although there's a pic of the box) Lights Out - released Henkry (you mean Henry??) - released (there's a listing for Henry) Link Cable - released Modem - unreleased Internet Cart - released (needs modem possibly!!) N.B. one site shows the Internet Cart and says it needs the Modem. The FAQ says the modem was unreleased!! Have a look here for some info on the system, they also cover the Game.com pro. Also, check out the FAQ.
Well, it makes sense really, doesn't it? Why would they release the cart but not the modem? It'd be like releasing DreamKey but not the modem!!
I don't believe an actual modem was released - I think the internet cart had hardware for linking up to a generic external modem. I think.
I have the internet starter kit for the Game.gom and it comes with a funky looking Serial adapter that was supposed to connect to a generic external model OR to the Game.com modem. However, I do not know if the Game.com Modem was released. I do, however, know the game.com is shite ¬_¬ But I would love a proto of SotN or MGS for it :|
Why would anyone want a game.com... i once bought one by with out knowing i was searching ebay for fighters mega mix for saturn and won the bid. But the dude sent me fighters megamix for game.com. I was so pissed..
I got mine for like $15 at a Toy liqiudators store. The games pretty much suck (Fighters Megamix has like 2-step animations.)
The Game.com is a curse on mankind. I got mine second hand (NEver been played though, and I know why!) for about £8 then bought a few games for it. I then got the Game.com internet cart on a whim on ebay. Basically, it cost me very little in money......but in reality, it cost me my soul :| The system is just _so_ bad. Everytime I think about the fact I actually paid money for it makes me want to vomit blood through my eyeballs. I hate the Game.com >_<
