Question: Is Metal Gear Solid: TTS a remake of Metal Gear Solid, plus Metal Gear Solid 2 with it, or is the game simply a remake of the first?

Its just a remake of Metal Gear Solid storyline with the gameplay functions found in Metal Gear Solid 2, new cutscenes, better graphics, and voices.

the controls are weird though. I still need to get into, but other GC games jumped out at me off my shelf first.

Yeah, its basically MGS 1 with MGS2 gameplay, and really, really, cheesy cutscenes.

I loved the cutscenes. What didn't you like about them?

They made him "Too heroic" for his own good. I didnt like the matrix BS put in it, and being able to pick up a grenade and throw it from 200 feet away, and land it in a tank cannon and blow it up. Way too cheesy and pretty much looked like anything that would be in a stupid action movie.
I liked the original scenes better, but I did like the new cyborg Ninja scenes.

Yeah, I loved those scenes the most. Hehe, did you see the scene with Pyscho Mantis, and the pictures in the background(I think Hideo Kojima and two others) laughing. That was priceless.

That was funny. Too funny for such a serious game, IMO.
But then again, Hideo puts all sorts of funny crap in his games. BTW, I thought Silicon did this game and Hideo was busy with MGS3 at that time...

Hmm...interesting. I want to play Metal Gear Solid 2 now, but can't because, if you haven't see n the broken T.V. thread, I can't :(. That's why I want to get it fixed. Is the second one better than the first?

Uhhhhh, most reviews say its a bad movie I played, or I bad game I watched. Its okay I guess, but it ends in a cliffhanger and I don't know if the new MGS4 will end it or not. MGS3 explains a little on MGS2, also.

I think you're looking at it wrong if you think the Metal Gear games are serious. You heard the Snake Eater opening song? Comedy GOLD. Hideo's always trying to make fun of his own games, ever since Snatcher... and possibly Yume Tairiku Adventure (a.k.a. Penguin Adventure), but I got a feeling that wasn't really a serious game at all. And SD Snatcher was just a total piss-take of Snatcher, in RPG form.

MGS (PS1) was prolly the most serious of his games, though. The only thing that wasnt serious in that version was probably Otacon the Otaku. MGS3 was really serious too, right at the end, but it had a monkey catching minigame in it, in which the monkeys spank themselves.:D
I liked the James Bond theme song, too!

Metal Gear Solid: TTS seemed serious to me, excluding the Psycho Mantis scene. Great game. Two is coming along just fine as well.

Its the story of Big Boss, so all that stuff should be instantly negated as soon as he is captured by Volgin, and has his eye shot out.

Yeah, it is getting a little "bleh." Do you know how much longer I have? I just found Emma Emmeric, and I'm now swimming with her. (Don't spoil anything please :)).

Uhm, not sure, but I think you are somewhat close to the end. If you count the Cgs, I would say 10 hours, but if you skip them, maybe 2 or 3 hours. :D It wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't true!

Wow. I heard the last CG is 40+ minutes long. Is that factual information?

Mostly exxageration, but I sat down around 5:00 p.m. at the last part of the game, and I played through the end and it took like till 7:45, and by then the credits stopped rolling. I skipped some of the Cgs, too, BTW. I have seen them all, though.
