I came by a cheap Naomi CP on eBay which was in need of some TLC... So, one small tub of rust removing snot ... ... and a bit of buffing later and it's ready to be repainted The snot I used can be bought here
I took it off, the rust had bubbled the overlay and stained it - it was visible from the top. The overlay had cigarette burns on it too, but I kept it anyway I sanded the top side, painted it dark metallic grey and lacquered it, hardened the lacquer for two weeks then rubbed it down. It now looks like this
No, not really, I rest it either on the arms of my chair if playing my DC thru my Naomi, or just on my desktop for my vertical PS2 shooters
Ross, next time we meet up I have 2 spare old 6 button CP boards in similar condition with overlays that are passable - suffice to say they could be turned into something better with your wonder snot and I really don't need them.
I personally always remove rust using medium and/or fine wire wool initially. If necessary, I'll then treat it with a rust preventer. Interesting stuff, though - albeit expensive!
