    Hello everybody,

I never play Metroid games on GBA.
When I was young I had played to Super Metroid only.

I have found 4 Metroid GBA games.

They are in beta format, debug and early.

    Build Dates are:

Zero Mission Debug US: 12/02 22:00
Zero Mission Debug EU: 01/14 14:30
    Fusion Debug EU 1-16MB: 0911 10:23
    Fusion Debug EU 2-8MB: 0916 16:57

Release data of commercials games are:

    Metroid Fusion:

    11/17/02 US
    11/22/02 EU
    02/14/03 JP

    Metroid Zero Mission:

    02/09/04 US
    04/08/04 EU
    05/27/04 JP

    Pictures:

nb. about MZM: two titles screens are differents (one with start game + language and second with press start only)

    Good find no?
Who want to help me to find some differences with commercial games?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards,
    Trevormacro

16MB would be new. No commercial one did that.

Right these games only displayed a language option in EU builds.

3 prototypes, each one 16 MB.
One M. fusion prototypes 8 MB.
We will continue with news screenshots during the game or debug :)
The most unique feature on them is the Debug mode and this one is very nice.

16MB hmmm I wonder what got cut out before it was finally released. Language can't be that big unless they included cryllic alphabet for Soviet and other similar languages, and many asian letters for east Asia.

Feel up to a full 100% run and see if there's anything that differs from retail version? Would need someone who knows MZM or Fusion very well. Maybe have it dumped and share ROM for us to check out?

standard disclaimer: releasing ROM may cause the value of beta and proto to drop quite a bit.

According to the Fusion article on TCRF, the final version has a lot of scrapped material, a debug menu accessible only with a patch and graphics from Wario Land 4. Also, Zero Mission has a scrapped sub-boss and some unused features. Maybe in the debug builds these things have been used somewhere and they are functionals.

    Hi,

    I have downloaded DoubleHelix2.0 editor.
When I want to load one rom dumped (SRL to GBA file name) I have an error: "this is not the correct file".
    How can I do?

    thanks in advance.

Nice videos, pretty sure MF doesn't show 'Metroid 4' in the final release.
Also you probably won't be able to load them as it'll be doing a checksum to see if you've loaded the right ROM or not and as your debug ROM checksums aren't there it thinks you've loaded the wrong files, have a look through the source and see where the error gets thrown out.

It only supports the U releases of ZM and MF as that's what I own :( I'd have to have the dumps in order to get the data required to load them.
Don't mind making a special copy for you if you can send them over. I replied to your PM

I'm one of the biggest. I was the co-author of MPxViewer which viewed models for Metroid Prime 1 and Double Helix has been my baby for almost 10 years.

Also, your fusion video has different sounds in the intro and some weird beeping noise. Def not the final sounds.

But other then the obvious, I think the ZM builds are super close to final and are debug builds
I am super interested in what the MF ROM holds though.

    Very interesting new man ;)

In the debug menu we can hear all the sound of the game and one by one.

    New video here:

Metroid Fusion Debug EU 1-16MB: 0911 10:23 (debug menu test):

Metroid Fusion Debug EU 2-8MB: 0916 16:57 (debug menu test):

If you see some differences let me know
