This is my lame attempt at contributing to the rare/unreleased/obscure sections of this forum... This may be old news to some of you, but at my Metroid site, the MDb, I have several screenshots of "Metroid IV" from E3 2001 -- the game which eventually became Metroid Fusion. It's completely different from the final product. http://mdb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/m4/screens.htm I took these with a cheap digital camera off a looping video playing on a giant Game Boy Advance at Nintendo's booth. The video was about 2 minutes long and showed some interesting elements that weren't used in Fusion, such as Samus running on the walls, and CGI cutscenes. I think the video is out there somewhere, otherwise I might know someone with it too... Enjoy!
Interesting that in the 2001 version they had some FMVs (or othe kind of non-sprite animation, can't quite make it out on the photos) up of the ship you're running around on (I think?), but decided to redo the location entirely.
Uhm...does actually recall something to me but not that i remember having seen any pictures of the game...
Wow...Why does the Metroid IV screenshots look like something from the Game Boy? Seriously, it looked like pure shit.
I remember seeing those shots when it was first announced. At the time there wasn't any info on it. I was amazed when it came out cause I thought man it doesn't look like anything shown in the first preview.
