    Heard about this. Somehow I think we're going to see a deal cut between apple and microsoft pretty soon.

    Apple and Microsoft had a cross-patent agreement that covered all aspects back when this problem is dated.

    I doubt Microsoft will even ask for a penny in royalties because they'd open themselves back up to the GUI legal war they waged for years.

    Yeh I heard about this. Apple is going to have to pay MS some $$ in fines.

    Anyone really good with patent law? Doesn't it seem that some patents are just WAY too broad, and would give a company a monopoly? I mean... graphical user interface on a digital media player. Didn't the first MP3 players have that?

    yeah and both of them are mentioned in Neuromancer, great book, i am hooked on that book for the moment.

    best pantanet no one thought of patening, would be portable emulation. I got to hand it to nintendo for doing that move, i can only imagine how much money they make off this, as well i think namco is the one that has the patanent for having mini games on a load screen since i have read that certain games to feature mini games on a loading screen were cut out due to them not having the pantent and not being able to get rights for it.

    I hope you're not referring to the mathematical term :eek:
    in that case I have another one to write on my list "reason I'm happy that I live in sweden where we don't have stupid patent laws" ;)
