Microsoft Surface RT 64GB

So i bought this device shortly after the launch date to see what Microsoft had to offer. I grew up on Microsoft, but later gravitated towards linux and unix. Unix pushed my to be an Apple guy because they had the only Unix OS that allowed me to focus more on work than the OS itself while still having enough Unix in it to let me play around. When windows 8 and the surface came out i liked a lot of the ideas Microsoft had come up with a decided to give it a try, but it really didn't fit into my workflow. I carried it around for quite a while and always found myself gravitating back to my Mac or my iPad.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great device. It's built solid, the screen is great, and the keyboard / stand is an awesome touch. For people who use their xbox accounts regularly and also get music / movies from the xbox it would make a great tablet. The app store is way better than it used to be and having Microsoft Office is a nice touch. The OS is very responsive and has never given me any trouble. Like i said, it just never fit quite right into my work flow. It would be awesome for someone who occasionally needs laptop functionality, but would rather carry a tablet.

It has some minor scuffs and scratches on the shell , but the screen is near perfect. It has worked flawlessly from day one without a single issue.

Wow what a bargain! It's not a bad device at all, actually, I got a tablet already...

 

Only the Surface Pro / Surface 2 Pro can run x86. The Surface RT / Surface 2 is ok for a tablet experience.

Windows RT has a desktop, but the only apps that are allowed to use it are Microsofts own (Office/Excel/etc). I think there might be a hack for it, but it still only allows apps that are compiled for Arm & I'm not sure how easy that is.

 

I'd be all over this if the RT model could run whatever I wanted to run. But the MS store is unusually light programs I use on my laptop. What is your bottom price? Are you in the US?
