My only real experience with it was buddy buying it at launch and playing perfect dark until the console died. I don't think the early ones had a good success rate..

Well, My first memory with it was all the afternoon I had with my friends playing Left 4 Dead. As I bought the 360 long time after it came out, I discovered a huge amount of games at the same time, it was like a pendora box haha.

LAN parties in the mid 2000s. All of the (then) new halo games. Just imagine it - put 15 teenagers in a basement with a Cat 5 hub and a bunch of TVs. Some of the best times I ever had were at 2am all hyped up on sugar doing tricks with warthogs and ghosts with my friends.

Incredible. Aside from the failure rate it really is a great system.

Cheapest consoles I ever bought brand new. Paid 119$CDN in 2009 for the 4GB Model. Still running strong and I hope for a long time. One of my favourite console.

You have to no longer be able to buy it, so once stock is gone the system is dead. They probably have a million units still on shelves.

Great run for a console, shitty 2-3 year run during the RROD debacle, but killed PS3 in sales early on. Overall was a great console.

I'm curious to how long they'll leave Xbox Live on. I say 5 years?

I purchased mine on December 18 2005, which was the day the local electronics store received the second wave of consoles. I waited until the stock said it was there then went to the store and bought an Xbox 360 "premium console" with the bonus media remote included and a copy of Dead or Alive 4.

Of course that console died, was fixed one for free and the second time it was out of their "oh no, we messed up, sorry our consoles were crap" warranty and they tried to get me to pay money for their mistake, that console still sits behind my dresser.

It has since been replaced with the Jasper console that comes with the Final Fantasy XIII super elite bundle, More recently I purchased an RGH2 Jasper console which I reshelled with the Halo 3 green shell and it looks great, of course the reason I got this consoles was because I could install all my games on the hdd and not need to pull out the discs to play like my original xbox.

Got one for Christmas 2006. The first game I really got into playing online a lot was the Lost Planet: Extreme Condition demo

I personally never understood the new 360E model release to coincide with the Xbox One Release. Nintendo tried that too with the stripped down Wii missing Gamecube backwards compatibility toward the end of it's life cycle. Why create a brand new version of a 10 year old console when the life span of the console only has another 2 years to go?

Regardless, I believe a JTAG or RGH 360 is a beast of a machine.
Stock.... it's just another console, but add JTAG or RGH into the mix... and whew....
I've owned several of them over the years, always slims, and have never had any RROD issues.

It's by far my favorite go to gaming rig, and I've played on all consoles since the Atari.

I'd say it will be missed, but for me it won't.
I'll have one for many many many years to come.

I'm also eager to see what Nintendo is going to bring to the table next.
Let's say I'm hopefully optimistic it won't be a disappointment, but I'm not holding my breathe.
Where the hell is Zelda at?

Probably a while, until they convince all the streaming media companies to drop it and force people to get something like a new Roku or (for Microsoft, preferably) and XB1.

My guess is the E is cheaper to make than the S is. I need to pick up one of those eventually, since I just plain don't have one.
