Well recently I've been looking into gaming conventions in the midwest region, seeing as how I'm in Iowa, and Midwest Gaming Classic has come up a few times looking around. Just out of curiosity has anyone here been there. Getting from mid-Iowa up to by Milwaukee would be a small trip so I'd hate to go and be severely disappointed. Also for those that have gone were vendor prices typically pretty fair? I went to an Anime Iowa a couple years ago because of the gaming vendors and they had real good prices on some imported games.
I've gone the past two years and plan to go again this year. They have a full room of old computers/consoles (museum) among other things, and you can play them all. Also got to see a PS2 Tool and XBOX PC-tower in addition to some CDi dev hardware. Prices are generally comparable to buying it yourself, sometimes they are a little high or lower. I always went with friends though (I meet with a couple friends in Ottumwa and drive up). Last year I mostly stayed in the Ben Heckendorn portables booth. I'll probably have some interesting things to show this year also
Cool, I might have to talk to some of the guys at work to see if they want to go. That's cool you got to see some dev hardware, again living in Iowa yields nothing around here. I can't wait to see the old computer museum, since recently that kind of stuff has become of great interest to me. I'll be sure to check out your stuff if I make it up!
