Is there a way to save all my passwords and then put them into firefox after having reformatted? I normally write them all down and then re enter after reformatting. However
    A. Takes ages
    B. PITA
    C. Not healthy to keep a piece of paper with all my passwords on.

You could also use an app like 1password to manage all your passwords across all browsers and such. It supports automatically backing up the keychain on Dropbox.. or you can just copy the file onto a thumb drive. I think 1password is mac only, but there are similar apps for windows as well I believe.

FireFox Sync is built into the newer versions of FireFox and allows you to backup your bookmarks, passwords, tabs and a few other details to a centralized server. I was extremely hesitant about the idea at first but apparently everything is nicely encrypted before it gets sent to their server.

Been pretty happy with it so far. Nice to have everything be the same across multiple machines. Phones too.

I've been using Firefox Sync for more than a year to store my passwords and bookmarks, and I had no trouble with it since then.

BTW, it's also great to keep stuff synchronized between different computers.

I honestly underestimated firefox, Didn't think it would have an option like that so didn't bother checking.
