    >Cool. I'd love to get more messed up redump dumps. Thanks!
    Simply a matter of redump updating the cues. Much better to preserve in a datted set than the graveyard of dead links AG has become.

    Just saying redump chose to butcher and reinvision the "gdi standard" in order to be assholes(?).

    Instead of dumping to their own brand new format, or just doing it the same way everyone else does.

    Offset corrected dumps are fucking stupid and worthless, they only exist to serve some random person's ego

    Lol oh boy, must be one of "those" people. Offset audio is matched from other roms, saves a lot of time and trouble, especially when rebuilding unshared roms. Also two discs, same data, different offset, why dat both?

    Looked around for some disc images that conform to 'Blue Book' but haven't had any luck yet. However you can filter CDs on Discogs to look for Enhanced CDs. You can also search for Enhanced CDs on Amazon and some that are appropriately tagged will pop up. Oh wait do you have a physical copy of Linkin Park Meteora or Reanimation? Those are both Enhanced CDs apparently, if not I'll try to find mine.

    Also I found this post on imaging 'Blue Book' discs that may or may not be of any help.

    EDIT: Derp just re-read your first post, that's why you went with LP to begin with. Oh yeah instead of Cygwin it might be easier to use a docker container.

    Nice find!

    I believe I was able to source a dump of this and it's what I used as the base.

    https://www.discogs.com/Linkin-Park-In-The-End/release/7578274

    Of course it's not 1:1 obviously because video was converted to a (specially encoded) sfd, playlist was edited to match new files, audio had to be modified to fit LBA / track restrictions (I still don't understand this part), and some "spooky" files had to be faked.

    So it's not really going directly from one to the other, but there's hardly any info about authoring a regular cd-extra, enhanced CD. I was able to find a parser to dump 1 special binary file, which was easy enough to write a writer for but the other 3 make no sense and don't even reference file data.

    The image is a jfif (jpeg).

    From an audio mastering perspective I imagine for an E-CD you would still create a DDP file to send over to whoever is manufacturing the discs. Even though it's "Disc Description Protocol" I'm not sure how granular this description is or if it's easy to view.

    I wish there was some consumer software to create a from scratch e-cd.

    At least I could understand what some of the things do.

    Not tomorrow because working 15 hours but Sunday or Monday I'll put together something for ya. Maybe tou can look through it and glean some info I missed, idk.

    I hate sharing copyrighted stuff so the image will have all audio blanked but I'll mark where it existed.

    That would be cool, no rush. I'm probably not the most qualified person but I'd love to take a peek, I'm sure other peeps will as well.

    EDIT:
    Ok I found my Meteora CD, here's how it's laid out
    Disc Information:
    Status: Complete
    State of Last Session: Complete
    Erasable: No
    Sessions: 2
    Sectors: 312,952
    Size: 640,925,696 bytes
    Time: 69:34:52 (MM:SS:FF)

    Size: 1,002,053,632 bytes
    Time: 108:45:59 (MM:SS:FF)

    TOC Information:
    Session 1... (LBA: 0 / 00:02:00)
    -> Track 01 (Audio, 00:13:33, LBA: 0 / 00:02:00)
    -> Track 02 (Audio, 03:07:70, LBA: 1008 / 00:15:33)
    -> Track 03 (Audio, 03:33:70, LBA: 15103 / 03:23:28)

    -> Track 10 (Audio, 02:55:38, LBA: 113587 / 25:16:37)
    -> Track 11 (Audio, 02:58:65, LBA: 126750 / 28:12:00)
    -> Track 12 (Audio, 02:24:55, LBA: 140165 / 31:10:65)
    -> Track 13 (Audio, 03:07:39, LBA: 151020 / 33:35:45)
    -> LeadOut (LBA: 165084 / 36:43:09)
    Session 2... (LBA: 176484 / 39:15:09)
    -> Track 14 (Mode 1, LBA: 176484 / 39:15:09)
    -> LeadOut (LBA: 312952 / 69:34:52)

    So Session 1 is of course straight forward that's just the audio. Session 2 starts at LBA 176484 and gives us a nice little message "Apple_partition_map" "Toast 5.0.2 HFS Optimizer Apple_HFS". Indeed at the beginning of Track 14 we get three different file systems, ISO 9660, JOLIET, and HFS. Each point to pretty much the same files, a couple .mpg, .swf, and .html files. There are some extra files with HFS though, or at least the tool I'm using is saying that (IsoBuster). I don't think that's correct, since it looks like that section has some shared assets.

    Here's what the 9660/JOLIET file tree looks like, ignore all the extra junk

    Looking at making DDP images it seems like a typical way to make them is just to throw in your .wav files and then add an .iso image that contains everything you need for the enhanced bit. It then creates a couple .DAT files and some other miscellaneous stuff. As we can see this Linkin Park CD has an .iso made using Toast 5.0.2.

    EDIT: Converted CODE to SPOILERS

    Sorry no quote, so I just liked.

    That is definitely an enhanced audio CD BUT it isnt a CD Extra / CD Plus enhanced CD.

    It's missing the required folders: SUB_INFO and PICTURES.

    I'll look and try to find some dumps of them to share. It's easy to find extracted versions but those are worthless because the CDs need specific creation and per sector manipulation to be valid. So if someone extracts it suddenly it's worthless because you'd have to rebudre by hand

    Shouldn't they be the same? It may not have those folders and associated files but I would think the structure of the disc itself would be the same.

    Looking at Discogs I made a list of some albums that specifically use the CD+ logo

    If you look at say Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark, only the Japanese release uses the CD+ logo. All other regions use the Enhanced CD logo. So that might just be a branding thing.

    EDIT: Oh derp here's a better file tree that actually includes the LBA for each file, that's probably more interesting. Some of the dates and whatever aren't right since, but that's not really important anyway.

    EDIT DOS:
    I found a CD Plus rip, it's not an actual image but the data section contains a CDPLUS folder with files INFO.CDP and SUB_INFO.EN. It also has a PICTURES folder with files JACKET01.00J, JACKET01.00N, JACKET01.00S, JACKET01.00T.

    EDIT 3rd: Figured out that some common places to find such interesting media actually forbid uploading them as .bin etc...

    EDIT 4rd: I redid my rip using Discjuggler the .cdi it spits out has the start of the data session about 9,975 sectors off in comparison to the bin. There also appears to only be 328 sectors between the end of the audio and the start of the data. In comparison with the .bin which has around 11,575 sectors. Typical compression for a DJ .cdi?

    EDIT 5st: I didn't realize you were looking for CD Extra/CD+ stuff because MIL-CDs are also those. Well I can confirm that 6 of the 8 are at least.

    EDIT 6nd (I'm going for a record, most edits and longest post): I'll tidy up my post a bit

    In light of this new information I have compiled a list of more relevant releases. These are all CD+ and CD EXTRA from the same or related companies of that made MIL-CDs.

    Look at what I found in the mail today
    20180823_171429.jpg

    I started digging into them a bit, this is mostly surface stuff though.

    So here is a list of files that occurs on each of these discs, as well as comparison results for their contents.
    Filename,Folder,Comparison result
    INFO.CDP,CDPLUS,Binary files are different
    SUB_INFO.JA,CDPLUS,Binary files are different

    MILSFD.PLY,SOFDEC,Text files are different
    1MILSFD.BIN,,Binary files are different
    2MILPASS.BIN,,Binary files are identical

    A number of the files are identical across all three discs, although RECLOGO.PVR in the SOFDEC folder only appears on the Checkicco and Snappers discs (binaries are different). Interestingly TEX27.PVR and TEX27B.PVR are identical and are on all three discs.

    Some files appear to use the x-mac-japanese (could be ShiftJIS) encoding, remember these were made in 1999 so we’re talking Windows 98 and Mac OS 8 here.

    Here’s some stuff that I’ve scraped together so far.
    INFO.CDP looks like a two or one byte difference between the discs.
    SUB_INFO.JA lists the date and track names.
    MILPA.PVR looks like a two byte difference.
    The JACKET01 files that are different look like they’re mostly the same except for three bytes that increment and repeat.
    MILSFD.PLY is just disc information, here is what the Snappers one looks like
    ;MIL CD PLAYER INFORMATION
    ;1999-05-26

    [MilcdSofdecPlayer]
    milsfd.ply

    PDATA10, likely padding data right? So it is! Inside you’ll find repeating numbers and some repeating Japanese, here’s an example 0010010,北海道札幌市北区北十条西. Which is here. The padding file is filled with addresses from Sapporo, Japan lol

    That’s it for now, I have filelists and relevant information up on Google Drive if you want to dive in yourself.

    Oh yeah they misspelled the 09CHAIRS disc to 09CHAIRES, so don't be surprised when I refer to it as 09CHAIRES.

    EDIT: Added sbver.txt, extracted pvr images, unscrambled bins(for the lazy), and redid the Session02 file trees so they list the files in order by LBA. I've extracted all the video and audio, I even redid the music videos with better audio but I'm not going to upload those. PDATA11 is Chiyoda, 12 Komae, 13 Tsuchiura, 14 Kofu, 15 Gifu, 16 Ukyo-ku, 17 Okayama, 18 Moji-ku, Kitakyūshuu, and 19 Naha.

    EDIT dos: I added pictures of the booklets and such. Apparetly Noriko Ishimoto was the "MIL CD Coordinator" for at least the Snappers release, it looks like they are now at studiofake

    Yep: dps Dremcast website, Checkkico Dreamcast website

    Indeed it is

    I need to get back to working with
    It's just it was a pain to keep checking images but now I have a gdemu it would likely be easier.

    Or at least pick my old research back up and figure out more.

    I did also recently find something of note

    Do tell!

    Something I noticed is that it looks like they used the DPS disc as a template for the Checkicco disc, some of the files are in the same locations even though they don't need to be. Considering that it looks like they were finalized three days apart that would make sense, which also means that they went from version 1.06 to 1.07 of the MIL-CD software in those three days.

    Interesting note on my end, none of these discs actually work in any of my NA or JP Dreamcasts. They can play legit and burned games and aren't modified in anyway, yet they can only play the audio portion of these MIL-CDs. The MIL-CDs themselves are in good shape so it's a little odd.

    No way!

    For those going "lolwut" グラウエンの鳥籠 (Gurauen no torikago) was an internet drama series that consisted of 365 one minute episodes that you would tune in to watch everyday. I previously thought that the "games" themselves either didn't have the videos on them or required internet access to watch them.

    This apparently isn't the case as Mrneo240's image shows, you can use the sixth disc as a boot disc and swap in any of the other discs to watch the series.

    Here's a video I found of someone doing just that.
    http://nico.ms/sm19322100

    Interesting find indeed, is there a decent version floating around? I imagine the discs themselves are pretty pricey considering the rarity.
