I've got this old CRT (sony Trinitron KV 21C5D) for a while now and I started to annoy myself more and more with its misalignment (slightly crooked screen and a little to the left). Ive tried using the regular and service menu's with no luck (the manual seems to refer to rotation and H-centering but both dont seem to do anything).

As you can see its quite noticable with some games.

Is there a way to fix that?

Something I found out when playing with the alignment of my Trinitron: when you perfect the picture for one console you'll mess it up for another. There really is no way to be completely happy with a tube unless you have a tube per console.

Increase the overscan via service menu a bit. This will hide the framing and should be fine with all 240p era games.
On mine the h centering and all the pin angle / phase options work and do stick though..

When I've had the same problem on my arcade monitors it's normally a case of pin cushion and overscan. Not sure how you'll get access to it on a consumer tube (as horstenss said, access to a service menu will help), but I can echo APE's comment about CRT pictures changing depending on resolution - I've had that happen occasionally on some games setup on my arcade cab (or at least I used to I think - haven't swapped a PCB out in a while :p).

What I did is get a true 240p title (I used the Chocobo Racing game menu, this can be tested via emulator) and use that to calibrate the h and v size and position.

Worked a charm. I wouldn't be so concerned about overscan really and RGB images shifting to one side a bit is a common affair with consumer grade CRT.
