Similar to my last thread about consoles. The first time I heard of killer instinct having an arcade version, I always thought it'd be like the snes version. Snes version Arcade version I also expected Daikatana to suck, but after playing it, I realized it's not that bad of a game. Though the shitty squad AI, and John Romero's eccentric behavior really didn't help with the game's reputation.
KI has NOT aged well, but for the time it was an impressive feat and the SNES version was technically impressive I've always had the sometimes misconception that a movie game usually sucks.
I admit, I had a feeling that the Ghostbusters game was going to suck. When I see a game being released on EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE, it usually makes me think its cheaply made. However, I was surprised at how good it was. Although it was a bit short, it didn't drag on a lot, though. The Force Unleashed kind of disappointed me though. Heres a misconception: Playing RPG video games is less nerdy than playing Dungeons and Dragons.:110:
misconception: VS Fighting games are boring Prooved wrong last summer. Fighting games indeed rule the multiplayer mode, lol.
I've always thought that 95% of movies based off of games were terrible. Also, it works in the opposite direction. 95% of games based on movies are terrible. exhibit A: Street Fighter - The Movie - The Game, a game based off a movie that was based on a game. The main exception to these rules, and why I say only 95% is because of games/movies like TMNT, pre-1993.
it's sad that you forget 007 goldeneye on the n64. "exhibit A: Street Fighter - The Movie - The Game, a game based off a movie that was based on a game." Three words: E.T. The extraterrestrial.
ET was not a bad game, it was rushed, but it was not much worse than any other 2600 cart. It's a misconception. It's the hype the game received then the myth that Atari dumped a million carts in the desert that caused the misconception that it was junk. Another misconception: Daytona USA on the Saturn was crap. The controls are perfect, just the graphics are bad. The game itself is excellent if you give it a chance.
Goldeneye came out a while after the movie hit theaters, it was given a normal development cycle so they had time to make a good game. A lot of other movie games get cut short to make it in time for cross licensing with the movie in theaters, like the 2002 GN/Xbox/PS2 Enter the Matrix game with it's nearly unplayable load times.
I used to own it. And I never understood how to play the game. in fact, it took me an hour to figure out how to get out of holes ):
enter the matrix is pretty average but can be fun at times. just avoid the pc version, which has cars that bounces everywhere and a mouse sensitivity that still make you do turn around a hundred times even with the sensitivity at 0.
Really? I don't know about that. The slides felt broken to me, and I logged many hours with the arcade version.
