I was playing some Aria Of Sorrow on the GBA the other day and came across this misspelling in the game. Instead of mid-jump it says lid-jump. Any one else catch that? IMG_8096 by Y=MX+B, on Flickr
I never played all the way through any GBA Castlevania game, but I'm sure others must have noticed it. It could be worse, look at Castlevania 2..
I really suck at these games and always end up getting killed by the mid-boss. I don't remember if I ever gotten double jump in Aria or Dawn. It's cute, too bad you can't equip shields as in pot lids.
Awesome game. I have beaten it a few years back and I don't remember catching that mistake. Nice find. Though it might have been fixed for the EU release but I doubt it since release dates are pretty close for all regions according to Wikipedia.
How does Aria of Sorrow compare to Circle of the Moon? I played that game a bit, but I got bored of it because I found the visuals rather dull. Which of the 3 GBA Castlevania games do you think is the best, overall?
Aria of Sorrow definitely wins in terms of the GBA titles (and in my opinion, of all the Metroidvanias).
I think CotM > HoD > AoS. I think the lack of whip as the main weapon is one of the reasons, and it just feels flat and boring to me. Didn't stop me from going all the way up to level 99 - killing red minotaurs for a couple of hours.
Ario of Sorrow is just as good as Symphony of the Night IMO. Tried playing Circle of the Moon, and like yourself found it kinda dull. Enemy and Castle Layout just didnt feel right. Gave up half way through.
I agree that Aria of Sorrow is the best GBA dracula. You really had to play Circle of the Moon when it first came out. It blew away anything portable at that time and would have give you uncountable of funny play hours. But afterwards it just showed how much more was possible with great Aria of Sorrow, which outshined CotM on nearly every bit. One of the most annoying thing in CotM was the 8-bitish animation of the players sprite. Really didn't fit into the "for then" very nice backgrounds and stuff. Still I think it's a bold statement to put AoS over SotN, SotN is such a bigger game in almost every aspect and offered a great sound track to the 32-bit era that still seems to be without equal.
