hi members , i got the right Caps for the PS1 SCPH-9001 i want to better my boot times. Unfortunately something has gone wrong i'll explain. The disc spins even though the lid switch is not pressed down and i just can't get it to boot , even when the lid switch is down.

i'm not a noob i've done PS1 modchip installs before , there was one incident that happened which may be the problem. I applied too much heat to point 3 and whatever it is came off , and when i resoldered it i got it the wrong way compared to the others that are close to it.

i have corrected the way it is supposed to go but yeah still no booting , interestingly if i remove the MM3 chip i can boot original games.

    i dunno...............

woohoo got it ! , i had packed everything up and was resting on my bed watching TV. At the same time thinking what could have gone wrong , i pinned it down to soldering connection 6 in the wrong place . I have been a bit stressed lately and my head isn't 100% , tomorrow i am going to run some tests to see how well it boots.

i did run one test before and it booted nicely , so i'm stoked

By the way, I've looked at the 5V and Ground rails of a modchipped 7502 console that didn't have the capacitor installed: It is horrible!
There was at least 100mV high frequency noise at the chip and it propagated along the whole board.
Installed a "104" cap and that fixed it right up :)
