On my HTC Snap I always have quite the problem with this site.

Internet Explorer - Slow as dirt, but everything works.
Opera Mini 5 - Fastest, but posting doesn't work for some reason.
Opera Mobile 10 - Almost as fast as Mini 5, but when ever I put in a period it won't let me type any more.

It'd be nice if there was something like tapatalk for Windows Mobile. (or even better a web browser that fully works!)

3gs browsing using opera and safari no worries. Safari much slower mind.
3gs even works after it jumped into my cup of tea (Earl Grey no less, this phone haa taste!).

My nexus one does pretty well on this site. Using the normal browser or Skyfire. Sometimes a bit of trouble clicking a link, but just zoom in a bit and you're good to do.

Woot! Another Nexus One User! Have you rooted yet?

Anywho, Default browser works, sometimes chokes on when posting. Opera Mini works great though. Haven't tried Skyfire.

Browsing on the N900 is identical to browsing on a PC. Full flash support for months now, that's the latest version of flash. Why? Because it's a linux computer..in ma pants:D

That's something those tight arse gits at Apple have to let past, FLASH! Once the iPhone has Flash it would make it a perfect web browser on the move. One thing that puzzles me is that You Tube works on an iPhone but isn't that flash based?

While YouTube's using Flash by default, it doesn't need to - it can also display the videos using HTML5's "video" tag: http://www.youtube.com/html5 - which, iirc, Safari (amongst others) already supports. They probably look at the user agent and automatically give you the HTML5 version if you're using an iPhone.

Actually, it just sends you to the YouTube app if you try to watch a YouTube video.

Hey guys. Long time lurker (followed the site since it's roarvgm days), total newb post-wise.

I like to check the forums daily, but always have trouble when I do it on my phone. I have a Nokia E71x and the browser leaves much to be desired when it comes to standard browsing. A mobile version of the forums would be a godsend. I've tried the other browsers out there, but I just prefer using the Nokia one. Maybe I'm asking too much, but we all can dream, right?

How about a forum template that's as "minimal" as possible? No JS, no thread tools, display modes etc, only a minimum of CSS (or non, if at all possible)... Higher chances of it working with mobile browsers, still useful for full-blown desktop ones (personally I already remove most of the fluff besides the actual posts via a filtering proxy, so I'd definitely use it).

Maybe suppress images alltogether, convert them to links or go the extra mile and resample them, to cut down on bandwidth?

Yes, of course I have. I did wait like 3 days after getting it, to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with the phone right out of the box though. Running CM-5.0.6 w/ an undervolted kernel. It's been a great phone so far except for some data wonkiness.
