Hey does anyone here have a Xbox Modchip running X-DSL + Cromwell while having stock OS and stock BIOS? I was looking to get a Modchip to do exactly that. One that can go on or off with on being Cromwell and a switch on the side to define on or off. If someone here does have one or knows of one that can, will you please notify me? I would also love to have instructions as well. Also: I also would like 2 hard drives if I am to do this, one for stock OS and one for Xbox - DSL.
I am sure that a lot of mod chips will do what you want it to do. But most do not have a simple switch to go between banks like that. The DUO X3 chip is perfect for what yo want to do. It has a switch on the chip to select from the banks. But the switch can be removed and I can solder wires to the chip and make a switch that you can attach to the case so that you can select from the banks without opening the case every time. The good thing about the DUO X3 is that it has 2 flash chips also and not 1 chip that they divide into smaller banks. That is why it has a simple switch to select the bank. If you need the DUO X3 with the switch extended let me know. I have a extra chip already also. You may find another chip you like better but I think this will be the best for what you are doing. I also have a X-tender kit that makes the console a little fatter and it allows you to use 2 more drives for a total of 3 hard drives. It has 3 little buttons to allow you to select the drive. I should have a extra one of those also. PM me if you want a complete console put together or just want the parts. I am not sure what your soldering skills are. You will just need to program the bios to the chip of send me the bioses that you want on the chip. I have never used X-DSL before but with this setup I know that you can run 2 different bioses and 3 hard drives and you can pick what ever combo that you want them to be in. You also do not need to install 3 hard drive, you can leave 1 out and run 2 of them. PM me if you need help with this. I have all the parts already for this project.
