Hello, I have a Nintendo 64 that I believe is french it is modded with a switch to play both NTSC and PAL games. It has a problem with the video however, the picture just gets really bright, and all white colours overpower all other colours. I am not a model I just bought this unit second hand so I was curious if you can see where it may be faulty by looking at pictures. Maybe it's missing a resistor somewhere? Thanks for help

What video connection are you using? Composite, S-Video or RGB?

Does the screen go funny on any region or game?

What kind of TV are you using?

Has it always done this since you bought it?

I use composite and its the same for all regions. After googling a lot now though I found that I need to install resistor inside the av cable. So I will try that to see if it helps

That may help but that resistor shouldn't just fail.

I had to add a 75 ohm resistor to my s-video signal from memory

If this really is a PAL machine you will have to install the 75ohm resistor in the composite video line and everything should be fine.

The resistor doesn't fail - it is missing in NTSC cables.
