Hello! Recently got my hands on to a Playstation 1, which supposedly is modded.
Dont know what modchip it is, because bought second hand.

All is working fine when playing original games. Recently wrote Driver 2 to and cd-r disc, but playstation is saying insert playstation format disk.
Now i have no clue, is it modded, is the chip dead or what?:(
Hope you can help me guys!
If any info is needed ask, i'll provide it asap.

Looks like anti piracy but on a psone. 2 of the wires are for patching the bios to allow imports.

Got any original imports to test?

what burn software are you using ?...........try Nero as it makes better burns than ImgBurn. Also play around with different burn speeds , and what media are you using ?

if you do get the PSOne working you may want to clean up some of what looks like rust so it doesn't cause any problems in the future

I have tried nero, img burn, roxio toast titanium and all of the burn speeds, as well different cd's, nothing seems to work.
could the rust be affecting it?

Actually, I didn't see the legs of the chip connected directly to the board.

Well, only chip I know of that patched the bios is ONEchip. But I don't recognise the way it's been wired.

thats the thing, spent half a day on google, still didnt get what chip it is or how is it wired.
just burned a backup driver 2 pal backup to disc, doesnt work, says insert ps format disk.
maybe it has been incorrectly wired?

Only chip I know of that patched the bios is ONEchip. Your install has the bios patch wires. So an educated guess says it's onechip.

It seems closest to a OneChip but using an odd installation:

Pins 3+4 (BIOS patching) & 5 from here:

This one mentions joining pins 8(ground)+7+2, but in yours 1+6+7 are joined:

    Pin 1 (power) from here:

Who knows if it ever functioned correctly.

It will be a onechip install without the stealth (Pins 2 and 7) and possibly it was anchored on the pad for Pin 5 but broke loose.

Remove the modchip and make sure it works again perfectly first - gives picture, boots originals.

Then install the chip using this diagram:

Seperate the pins on the chips too. You'll have to desolder them.

Optionally, you could get a new chip since we're not 100% of what chip it is or if it still even works. But definitely start by getting the system to work perfectly without the chip first.
