Everyone should own a Saturn. One of my friends and a member of this board (mostly lurks) called FH bought a white Saturn not so long ago. He was saying before he bought it that he never had any interest in the system. Now that he hjas it though he can't get enough of it :)

led mods are so easy I don't count them as mods.

    It's like changing a lightbulb.

but that one was involved cutting away metal shield inside to expose far more area for LED...
if it wasn't about cutting away that shield I'd attempt with mine years ago... :D

Not if you're shite with a soldering iron like me. I killed one of my Dreamcast's controller boards trying to do an LED mod. Got the LED in but the bloody thing didn't work. I have no idea if it was a dodgy LED or if I'd killed the board because the one I took out wouldn't work either. Luckily the controller ports are fine :)

Did you burn the board or something? My LED swap on my DC looks like ass on the inside, but it works fine. It was my first time dealing with a soldering iron, too. They aren't difficult for a "first-timer", but I guess I could understand how one could mess up.

No idea what I did wrong. Probably a lack of concentration lead to burning a track or something.

Indeed, I think most professional electrical engineers would have trouble. Ninja micro soldering skills required.

Or you have to have modded a PS2 before as well.

Modding a PS2... now THAT's a nightmarish job. The old ones, especially, with those "simple" 12 wire chips, like the Duo2.

Hell, even dissassembling the thing makes my head hurt like hell. The PSX and PS1 you could mod in like 15 seconds - but the PS2... that's just sadistic.

    12 wires...
    mate try 29 wire...
I had nightmare putting Enigmah chip into my very fist xbox and almost killed it... :p

now back to the mod, I think if someone put the Saturn inside the StarWars Deathstar that would be cool...
