Found a site called Console5 (via another thread) and has a few of the switches, cap sets and snes fuses I need, to start doing my own mods and repairs to consoles- but no mention on their site of wires and connecting cables?

I need some advice on where to source the wires, cables and connectors I may need for modding or repairing mainly NES, SNES and Genesis consoles. Also really want to make my own cables, which seems like a sensible easy starter.

I need basic stores or websites that would cater for say adding an s-video port into my SNES, or attempting the CIC mod. I am aware of the mod kits but am looking to source reasonably priced, wholesale avenues...

Any USA based recommendations to help a newbie out?

Did you look at the rest of Console5's offerings? They sell a lot more than fuses and caps. After going through the site, all you need is wire and video cables. Wire, you'll need to work a bit hard considering it's recommended to use like 26 gauge. Video cables are easy, just head into a 99c store.

26 gauge wire or also I use IDE ribbon cables mostly for internal mods because it thin and easy to move around.

Yes I did, but they are quite limited on SNES mod kits, parts and other bits. I am currently seeking things like a multi out port, replacement plug n play pin connectors and all necessary kit to get things done.

Also advice on a suitable (reasonably priced!) soldering iron, with ultra thin tips and the specific solder gauge/brand required. Most DIY stores ones look huge and too powerful, also no stands. Or the correct gauge of solder.

i have been collecting cables from thrift stores, so that's all good. Thanks
