Modding the dreamcast today - halp!

S I got my flash chip in today here is the chip i bought -> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280774677182?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I am going to be installing it into a JAP VA0 Board.

What resistors do I need also is there a guide for my board/chip out there?

It probably won't work very well, that's a 3v chip and the va0 is 5v. The guide that tell you to use that chip shouldn't exist

 

Can't I just pull 3V from elsewhere?

 

Then the outputs from the chip are outputting at 3v, which often doesnt drive the dreamcast correctly = no booting.

I can promise you, that method is completely hit or miss - sometimes works, often doesnt.

 

ok, but another thing. How do I flash a blank chip thats installed in the console. I have tried every image i could find but none of them boot. All my backups work fine though....

what program do i use to burn it? will nero do?
