I've seen a few people talking about doing this mod (where the SCD is powered from the side connector) for the model 2 SCD but haven't seen it done for the model 1.. Is there any information on anyone doing this?

I'd advise against it and suggest using a power supply modded to do both at once.

I might go that way. I know someone sells the ones that will power the Genesis, SCD, and 32x.

I have one of them. It's called the Sega Trio and it works perfect for my model 2 Genny, model 2 CD, and 32X setup.

Its a made up name for a PSU with 3 connectors. Its not really "called" anything, other than what some website decided to name it - as if they have the rights to making a 3 connector PSU or something.

Why not call it the tripolar? We have bipolar so why not?
