    Greetings, wise ones!

Does anyone know if the Dreamcast external bus connector (for the modem / BBA) is a standard part number ?

E.g. is it a custom SEGA commissioned connector or is it an obscure mass-produced (e.g. purchasable) connector ?

I'd love to know (if anyone does) !

    Also more importantly I've realized:

Is there any complete documentation for the G2 AKA Parallel bus pin-out anywhere?

As far as I can tell ~ what little documentation is incomplete and fragmentary.

Could you not just remove the connector from a modem adapter if you need one? I'm pretty sure it's a custom Sega comissioned connector.
I think there was a site somewhere documenting a guy making his own devices to go into that port and I think he had some sort of pinout diagram. Someone else here might know what I'm talking about. Sorry I can't be more helpful

    Yep, already got that info.

I still doubt its proprietary ~ but probably true that it isn't produced anymore.

Guess I'll just cannibalize some modems...:gravedigging:

Isn't it funny all of a sudden there is a lot of interest in the Dreamcast?

P.S. Yes, its for a special project. ;-)

I'm not sure which makes sense - I think its Request Device N...
RQ - more sense than RO... If I figure it out I'll update this.

Also, those MIDI - In/Out ports are news to me, might it be fun to plug your dreamcast into a Synth ?

    Currently researching the pertinent information.

If anyone reading this knows how the MIDI works on the AICA ~ I'd love to know if you can control the chip thru the MIDI port?

What I'm working on is a G2 Bus to SPI interface, with a few limitations.

Anyone know where I can get some modems/dummy cards cheap (for the 50 pin connectors) ?

Ask in the marketplace request, probably quite a few people here with DCs that don't use the modem adapters.

You should also check your local cash converters, they usually sell them for next to nothing since they are pretty much useless to the average guy. Only used as a dust cover and for the seamless look on their DC.
