I think that the problem with Sonic is that, it's a lot easier to build on a critically and commercially successful title, and there hasn't really been an acclaimed game in the series since SA2.
Colors and Generations got pretty good reviews and the fans loved them. Lost World was vastly underrated because it was the follow up to Generations. The 3DS version of Lost World is worth a play since it is a totally different game with the same type of engine. I get that the animated show was supposed to appeal to a new audience and the new game was supposed to be very kid friendly. However there's now such a core amount of fans who've grown up either with the genesis or even SA titles that making a beat em up sonic is just insane. This gen I just don't know. The best AAA games are all the HD remakes they're coming out with from the old gen!
I really enjoyed Sonic Lost World - although it wasn't as good as Generations. I looked on the game website (uk) site yesterday and Sleeping dogs on Xbox 360 was on sale for £3.99, yet the xbox one version is £42.99 Seriously?
Wait, they re-did Sleeping Dogs? Already? Then again, that shouldn't surprise me. SquareEnix has always been port-crazy.
Yeah, they're redoing (or maybe it came out) Sleeping Dogs. Odd, because I didn't think it sold well. I mean, I know Tomb Raider sold well, but Square just spent so bloody much that like 3 million units didn't break even.
Im not sure if people who bought the original release are expected to get these HD rereleases. I have only played The Last Of Us and Tomb Raider as their HD rereleases on new hardware. I played GTA5 when it came out and while I like it a whole lot, don't need to but it again ya know?
I rented Tomb Raider, and I'm debating getting it for $20 on Black Friday (I've realized that Gamestop stays open from midnight on, and there's one well within walking distance, so I can go there at 2 or 3 and get most of what I want). I thought it was kinda derivative of the Arkham games, so I didn't have a desire to get it then.
that video is so true! I posted it on the Sega forums and got an official warning for it as it has 'offensive language' in it. lol.
I would even say it's ironic that Nintendo and the Wii-U has the least broken titles being developed for it......
I constantly tell people this. While there isn't a huge flood of games coming out for the Wii U, the games that do get released are critically acclaimed. Its sad that the Wii U gets practically ignored by the general public yet Nintendo is delivering solid titles for the system consistently, with Sonic Boom being the exception.
The only truly great game on Wii U is Smash Bros, the other Nintendo games are either astoundingly mediocre or pure crap. As far as third-party developed games go, Wonderful 101 was seriously disappointing too. It's ironic that Sonic Boom is the worst game I've played in years, yet it still uses the gamepad better than any Nintendo game released this year...
If you're a delusional pro-Nintendo nerd, you might actually be able to convince yourself Game & Wario isn't shit. Wait...I don't think that's possible. Forgot about Pikmin 3, although judging by its sales figures so did everybody else, unfortunately. Maybe the problem is just that I'm not really into platformers anymore and that's what many of the Nintendo games are.
Wouldn't know, I've never played it. Was going to get it for free as the Club Nintendo Platinum Reward (since it was the only game I didn't have; btw, what a terrible Platinum reward), but then I forgot about it and never claimed my reward, so it went away (likely would have never played it anyways, I only liked the first two WarioWare games). If you don't like platformers though then aside from Pikmin 3 you also forgot Bayonetta 2, which is fantastic. Hyrule Warriors is also great, but it being a Dynasty Warriors style game I can see where many would be turned off.
