Battlefield always was the better game - even in the Battlefield 1942 vs CoD days. No idea how but for some reason CoD became more popular - I guess partly because by the time Modern Warfare launched, Battlefield 2 was considered old. The original Bad Company being completely shit compared to previous iterations probably didn't help, but by the time Bad Company 2 put the series back on track MW2 was out and gathering pace, so in a way I answered my own question. Roll on Battlefield 3
Call of Duty started to have more fans which created, in the time, a large fanbase than Battlefield. Obviously fans will certainly avoid to change from one series to another and that's why MW2 has had all of this success. Personally I don't like this kind of games, but I have friends who love Call of Duty and will never change it for anything in the world.
I am not getting MW3, because it is not being made by the people who made COD4 and MW2. I do not want to support them. Battlefield looks better anyway... I may get MW3 when it is worth like, $20. lol.

LOL better get that flame resistant armor ready, they are coming. Personally i like my shooters more fantasy based which is why i love the bioshock series so much. The rest are just meh in my eyes.
THIS In fact when ever I take a cheap shot at modern games it's almost always aiming for games set during a reality based war. That said can we have a game set in Nam where you're tripping a Acid the whole time with licensed music from that Era? Cuz that would be awesome It's based in reality but what you're seeing is shit like your AK-47 shooting rainbows
Couldn't agree more with Yakumo. And yes. There are way too many war games... Now that you think about it, what else will there be on the next gen consoles? If SEGA was to make another console, my god, they would dominate the market and crush Sony, Micro$oft and Nintendo if they did it right. Why they wont make another console? Because they are obsessed, with making software titles that have already been made on there rivals consoles...
And what is it about that video that is causing you not to buy it? Just looked like another shooter to me.
Somehow i totally lost interest on FPS games these days. The last FPS game i was addicted on PC was Day of Defeat. On consoles, i really like Killzone. I really enjoy the story (even though most reviewers say it's crap) and the art style. Plus Killzone2 and Killzone3 have such amazing multiplayer modes. Really addicting and fun team play. I'm really looking forward for Aliens Colonial Marines, but that's because i'm a big Aliens fan.
I actually enjoyed mw2 alot, so ill def be picking this up. I don't feel its a milked title especially since I skip all the ones not made by IW. so what they've had 3 games all nearly the same.
I prefer my FPS with a great single player mode and a lackluster multiplayer mode, instead of the inverse. CoD hasn't delivered in a while.
