Does anyone know anything about this extremely obscure arcade game by Sega? There appears to be no documentation for it at all other than a few pictures and tidbits here and there. It's also not dumped. Sega Japan has a page dedicated to it on their website! https://sega-interactive.co.jp/special/history/title/mogurapper.html "Mogu Rapper is Sega's answer to Parappa the Rapper. The computer plays a tune and then you try to match it by pressing variouns buttons on the arcade unit. There are varying reports on this game, most of them claim it runs on the Naomi hardware. This would make a Dreamcast port very likely." Source: http://www.dc-extreme.com/september.html Reports claim NAOMI hardware, but System-16 has it listed on the ST-V page: http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=711&page=4#2874 Gamespot briefly mentions it as "Segas answer to Parappa the Rapper and Beatmania" https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sega-rocks-jamma/1100-2464873/ The soundtrack for this game is listed on many Japanese retailers such as Amazon.jp and .fr, and vgmdb https://www.amazon.fr/Mogurapper-Soundtrack-Game-Music/dp/B00005FPEL https://www.amazon.co.jp/モグラッパー-ゲーム・ミュージック/dp/B00005FPEL http://vgmdb.net/album/4367 This game looks SO cool! Its fascinating how there doesn't seem to be much info about it out there. Would love to listen to that soundtrack! Some pictures:
Not much going on in the graphics department, I'd say. 1/10, would ditch for Parappa any time. My Simpsons Poochie comparison turned out to be surprisingly topical
Great find. Huge disappointment that there isn't any graphics for the game . I bet Sega would've been able to out-PaRappa PaRappa in the artstyle & graphics department if they tried. I found the full soundtrack for this game, and its a total PaRappa knockoff lol. But, a great knockoff nonetheless. Some damn good SEGA music. I'll share in a bit if anyones interested
