I've decided to hold monthly contests on the site, the first contest is a systems mod one. You can find the thread in the collections forum. While we don't have a prize for this month, bragging rights and a full month's measure of smugness, assholery, and general "I'm teh hotness" are at stake. All the entries will be compiled into a youtube video for the site's youtube group, so everlasting fame can be yours. -ASSEMbler
Well it depends who's judging and on what merits. I know the guy who owns this forum ya know ...:033:.. it's all about the connections >_>
was hoping for highest devkit tower (thought if ASSEMbler still got his living room floor full of test kits I guess it'll be hard to win ^_^)
Suggestions for future contests: most items in a language other than your own most consoles nobody has ever heard of most copies of a single title (different regions/editions/betas included) most damaged, but still playable game or system most obscure use of a console or controller
I`d like to see more creative challenges that all members can take part in regardless of the amount of software/hardware they own. original game related photos for certain themes or something similar so we can get more people involved.
If we're trying for contests that have an equal playing field, I figure we need to follow the LOLcats model. You get an interesting game screenshot and you add a caption or a voice bubble. Keep it under ten words, make sure it's funny in or out of context. Get bonus points if it's a screen you generated yourself, but it wouldn't be a requirement. Family-friendly wouldn't hurt either, as there's enough profane and blue content in games without us adding any.
